Advantages of Installing Truck Bed Mats and Liners

Wednesday, June 22nd, 2011

If you use your truck for some heavy duty hauling purposes, chances are you could use some protection in your truck bed.  You don’t want to have a bed that’s all scratched and torn to pieces, and that’s just what’s going to happen if you’re not careful with your truck.  But that’s why so many different types of truck bed mats and liners exist, so that you have a simple solution to ensure that you’re able to install the perfect protection with ease.  You’ll find that there are actually quite a few options to choose from out there as well.

That’s why you really want to look into your options, so that you can be sure that you do choose the best possible liner.  There are a lot of choices out there, but not all of them are going to do the job the way that you want it to be done.  Are you looking for more protection?  Or perhaps more traction while you’re transporting cargo?  Either way, you have to ensure you choose the right type of liner that’s going to act like the perfect possible protection in the long run for your truck.

So here are a few types of truck liners and what you can expect from them when you use them:

Rubber Truck Bed Mats

This is by far the gold standard and the solution you’ll probably find most commonly in use from truck owners throughout the country. This literally consists of a big rubber mat that you stick onto the back of your truck, to ensure that it’s as easy as possible for you to provide quick and easy protection.  This is literally going to ensure that abuse bounces right off the back of the truck, to ensure that the bed stays safe and sturdy no matter what you’re throwing back there.

Plus you can also customize truck bed mats like these, so that you can actually buy them thicker or with enhanced traction.  You’ll find that the thicker types are more ideal if you’re carrying heavy equipment, and you need to go with something soft that can literally cradle your cargo much more safely and easily.  With textured mats you can ensure that you’ve got just what you need so that you can ensure supplies that may slide around are going to stay in place a lot more firmly and safely as well.

Truck Bed Rugs

These are more ideal if you’re looking for a bit more cushion for the back of the truck no matter what you’re going to be hauling back there.  Typically made of the same types of materials that you’ll find with outdoor carpeting or rugs, these are made to be extremely durable and sturdy but also of heavy duty composition.  That means they are going to resist stains and damage, and feature a sturdy nylon type of fibers so that you can ensure they are going to cushion and keep thing stable the way carpet would do, but without the worry of doing damage to the material.

Drop In Liners

If you’re just looking for something to provide protection, and you really don’t require rubber Ford truck bed mats, then a liner may be more your stile.  These are made from really durable rigid plastic, and they are as such that they can be installed into any truck bed and are made for just about every model of truck as well. They are patented to fit inside pretty easily, and provide you with the impact resistance that’s needed for the heavy loads, or for carrying items that could otherwise damage your truck as well.

Spray On Liners

Finally, as the last alternative to rubber Chevy truck bed mats is going to be the spray on liner.  Working just like the drop in types, only they are in spray form in which you can actually literally spray them onto the surface of the truck bed. This way, you can bond them to the vehicle for even more overall protection.  The only downside being that they cannot be removed, and so are a lot more difficult to repair and replace.  That means you have to do a whole new spray if you want to fix a problem, which is why truck bed mats can be slightly more convenient.

Retractable Truck Bed Covers For Equipment Transportation

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

Having the right type of truck bed covers is important, no matter what type of equipment you’re planning on hauling with you.  You’ll find that different types of covers can provide you with a different level of protection for your important items, and you want the right type to ensure that every single trip goes smoothly.  There are a variety of different types of truck bed covers, and it’s important to find the one meant for the type of cargo you’ll frequently be transporting.  Only then can you be sure that you’re able to get your items from point A to point B safely, every single time.

What Does A Cover Do?

One of the most important things to consider with your truck bed covers, is ensuring that they provide you with maximum protection.  When you’re looking to add a cover that’s guaranteed to keep your items safe, you’re always going to want to go with a hard fiberglass cover.  This way you can be sure that your truck is completely safe from the elements.  But what’s more, a hard cover like this can even be locked, to provide you with an extra level of security of your items.  That way, you can carry literally anything with you, from tools, to important cargo, and you can guarantee that it will always be perfectly safe and secure, at all times.

Style Options

But these types of truck bed covers are not always ideal, especially when you have to carry awkward or bulky cargo that doesn’t fit within the cover’s shape very smoothly.  For that reason, you may want to go with a  soft roll away cover instead.  These are just like hard covers, but instead of being directly attached to the back of the truck, they are attached through a system of snapping buttons, that can be removed so that you can literally move the cover around as need be.  Plus they can stretch over any material that you put inside, so you’re guaranteed to have the perfect method for carrying irregularly shaped objects safely.

Although, these still aren’t always ideal when you have something else that’s even larger, or more bulky to carry in your vehicle.  In that case, you may want to avoid truck bed covers completely, and go with a  truck bed topper instead.  This way, you can provide yourself with more room and security than you would have otherwise.  You can fit large objects inside comfortably, while being able to ensure as well as guarantee that they cannot be tampered with in any way.

Buying Options

When you’re looking to purchase the ideal truck bed covers, you need to find the right type of retailer.  You’ll find that there are several different types of shops that actually specialize in these, and they will be able to both provide you with the cover that you need, as well as the installation necessary to put the cover on.  It’s just a matter of finding the right service in your area, which you can usually do by using a resource like Google or Bing.  There you can perform a search to find the ideal truck bed covers retailer, so that you can find literally any type that you could possibly need.
